The BC government is quietly eliminating the one office that ensures hiring is fair and based on merit. Here’s what they don’t want you to know.

📊 THE NUMBERS DON’T LIE:
• 2023/24: 10% of ALL government hires were marked “Merit Not Applied”
• This is the HIGHEST rate since 2016
• That means HUNDREDS of positions filled without proper competition

⚖️ THE GOVERNMENT’S RESPONSE:
Instead of fixing the problem, they’re eliminating the independent oversight office.

The BC Public Service Agency will now police ITSELF. The same people who approved these flawed hires will now be in charge of oversight.
