On July 25, 2001, the skies over Kerala, India, turned blood red. For two months, crimson rain fell from the clouds, staining clothes pink and leaving scientists completely baffled.
Physicist Godfrey Louis discovered that the red particles looked exactly like biological cells under a microscope—yet they contained zero DNA. This led to a radical theory: did a disintegrating comet release trillions of extraterrestrial spores into our atmosphere? While the official government report claimed it was just local tree algae, critics argue that the sheer volume—over 50,000 kilograms of particles—makes a terrestrial bloom highly unlikely.
To this day, these cells remain stable, with some studies showing they can survive and grow at temperatures up to 300°C.
What really fell from the sky? Alien biology, a freak phenomenon, or something we still don’t understand?
