Trump Threatens 100% Tariffs on Canada Over China Trade Deal
President Donald Trump warned he will impose 100 percent tariffs on all Canadian goods if Prime Minister Mark Carney completes a trade deal with China. The deal would lower tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles in exchange for reduced taxes on Canadian farm products.
Mark Carney responded strongly at the World Economic Forum in Davos, stating “Canada doesn’t live because of the United States. Canada thrives because we are Canadian.”
Lower Mainland Property Values Drop 10%
Vancouver and Lower Mainland property assessments fell significantly, dropping from 2.01 trillion dollars to 1.92 trillion dollars. This represents a 10 percent decline in property values across the region, with Vancouver seeing the biggest decrease.

BC Hydro’s 2025 clean power call received fourteen proposals worth 6 billion dollars in private investment. The projects will generate enough electricity to power 900,000 homes annually and will be operational by October 2033.

Vancouver doctors are warning that the city’s already strained emergency room system could face a crisis when 300,000 soccer fans arrive for FIFA World Cup 2026 in June. Hospitals are currently operating at 100 percent capacity.
